L’ancien président du FC Barcelone, Sandro Rosell, suspecté de corruption dans le transfert de Neymar au Barça et qui risque jusqu’à cinq ans de prison, a été placé en détention.
Selon El Mundo, cette mise en détention n’a rien à voir avec l’affaire du transfert de Neymar mais est liée à l’opération Rimet, conduite par le FBI dans le cadre d’une enquête menée au sujet de malversations lorsqu’il travaillait pour la Confédération Brésilienne de Football. L’enquête a en effet révélé que l’ancien président du Barça avait perçu des sommes d’argent pour l’organisation de matches amicaux qu’il n’aurait pas déclaré grâce à un savant montage financier.
